Head of AI Center of Excellence (m/f/d)
We have an AI strategy and a large community of people who are passionate about technology and AI. What's still missing is you: the person who takes the strategy from paper to practice. As Head of our new AI Center of Excellence, you won't be pitching AI to a skeptical leadership team - you'll be building a Group CEO sponsored seat on our Tech and AI Board, and three businesses ready to change how they work. You'll lead a focused lean team, amplified by AI Partners embedded in every business and a champions network spanning DACH, the Nordics and Benelux. It's a rare combination: real authority to shape strategy, real resources to execute it, and a mandate big enough to change how a 600-person group operates.

Your mission
- Own AI adoption end to end - training, our weekly AI Spotlight, the use case library, an annual agent-build hackathon and the approved-tool landscape - and make the sanctioned path the fastest path, every time
- Lead the redesign of how we actually work - team up with process owners across delivery and administration to rebuild core processes around AI, bringing the method and proving the impact
- Build and run our AI Operating System - the internal platform for agent orchestration, retrieval and prompt lifecycle management - engineered to stay vendor-neutral as the market shifts
- Take ownership of AI governance - EU AI Act readiness as both deployer and provider, our AI Usage Guideline, and a client-facing Transparency Charter - compliance as a fast, reliable service, never a bottleneck
- Represent the AI CoE on our Tech and AI Board and become the one door every business knocks on for AI questions
You come with
- Real enterprise AI adoption experience with the numbers to prove what actually changed
- A genuine track record of redesigning processes (Lean, BPM, service design or similar), including the facilitation skill to lead that work with people who don't report to you
- Hands-on technical range: LLM/agent architectures, orchestration, RAG, MCP, and working fluency across today's major enterprise AI stacks (Claude, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Atlassian Rovo, ChatGPT, Gemini)
- Solid regulatory footing: EU AI Act deployer/provider obligations and GDPR in a data-processing context
- The influence to lead without formal authority and turn a network of part-time volunteers into a genuine delivery engine
- Fluent English (C1-C2); professional German is a strong plus
