Social commitment

We stand up for social issues & for our environment

We take our social responsibility seriously and are committed to environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles. As an IT company headquartered in Saxony, we are particularly committed to promoting a vibrant and diverse society in which everyone enjoys living and working.

Communardo is part of the Pledge 1% movement

We are proud to be part of Pledge 1%. As a member of this global movement, our colleagues can use up to two working days a year for social engagement – for example, to spend time with older people. As part of Pledge 1%, our Diversity Team coordinates Social Days. These are charitable initiatives at Communardo’s offices, where we encourage staff to use part of their working hours and free time to support social projects.

In addition, Communardo donates 1 per cent of product revenue in the form of free community licences for our Atlassian Marketplace add-ons to charitable organisations.

Resources for a world worth living in

Communardo reduces its CO2 emissions

As an IT company, we make the most of the digital age in every way. All our documents are digital: from application forms to the invoices we send to our customers. We also use video conferencing wherever possible and prefer to take the train to visit our customers. In our day-to-day office life, we make a point of using reusable materials or recycled products. In Heilbronn, we source our electricity from the solar panels on the roof and also have a charging station for electric cars. Our staff have a donation budget which they can allocate to a charitable organisation, such as the WWF, NABU or the Austrian Nature Conservation Association.

Support for the next generation

Communardo donates to charitable causes such as the school computer centre

Communardo regularly auctions off older hardware internally, with the proceeds going to various organisations. A total of €5,000 was donated from the last auction to the organisations Sonnenstahl e.V. Dresden, Kinderhospiz Bärenherz e.V. and the Dresden Student Computing Centre. In this way, we aim to support both charitable organisations and the growing digital generation.

For cosmopolitanism and tolerance

Communardo operates in various locations across Germany and Europe and is proud to collaborate with partners from all over the world. It is only by working together with these partners that we will be able to continue to operate successfully. We want people to be treated with respect, regardless of their appearance, background, religion, political views or sexual orientation – this is already how we operate within our diverse teams.
Furthermore, we are a member of the association “Wirtschaft für ein weltoffenes Sachsen” (Business for a Cosmopolitan Saxony), through which we help shape our main location, Dresden, as a cosmopolitan city.
