How does Bitbucket work?

Bitbucket is the tool for a modern version control system. Bitbucket can be used as a cloud-based service, but can also be hosted on-premises. Bitbucket is the tool for a modern version control system

The central element of Bitbucket is the code repository, which serves as a storage location for files and manages and organises all changes to the code. Your repository is visualised, and you can create branches which you can merge back together as you wish. This allows the code to be clearly structured and also makes working in large teams more efficient. Using ‘forks’, you can create a copy of a branch in Bitbucket. This enables parallel work on a section of code, whilst code reviews ensure high code quality.

Pipelines are Bitbucket’s integrated CI/CD tool, designed to make building, testing and deploying software as straightforward as possible.
