The challenge facing Nidwalden Cantonal Bank

Nidwaldner Kantonalbank (NKB) was looking for a modern collaboration platform – a social intranet – through which staff could exchange information and knowledge. An attractive platform for 162 staff across eight branches, used regularly to stay actively informed about current events at NKB and to communicate with colleagues.

The bank wanted a modern social intranet that is fun, simple and intuitive to use, features an efficient search function and includes a number of customised features. These include, for example, a streamlined process for customer advisors and an internal online marketing shop.

The solution with Confluence

Nidwaldner Kantonalbank installs a modern social intranet

Communardo Switzerland implemented Linchpin, a Confluence-based social intranet. Features such as the attractive, modular home page (also known as the dashboard), the ability to categorise news feeds, and the ease of creating blog posts were particularly appealing. Other outstanding features include:

  • the ability to customise sections, such as the news feeds
  • the display of events with the option to register electronically straight away and seamlessly add the event to your own calendar
  • the creation of a list of personal favourites with links to preferred apps
  • favourited pages and colleagues’ contact details can be saved for even faster access

In addition, Communardo Switzerland has developed two custom features that are integrated into Confluence and Linchpin:

  1. Account managers can create an individual file for each client within Confluence, store documents in it and send these as PDF files directly to clients via email
  2. The marketing department’s internal online shop has been updated to present products more clearly and make it easier to monitor minimum stock levels. Orders are processed directly via Linchpin
