We’ve just released a new version of our beloved app Metadata for Confluence and after reading this article, you will most certainly be excited to update.
Awesome new features
- Here come the highlights of Metadata for Confluence 3.0:
- Manage the order of your Metadata Fields
You wanted it, so we made it: Space Admins can now change the the order of Metadata Fields easily by Drag & Drop. - Export & Import functionality for Metadata Sets
Ever needed your dozens of fields with hundred values on another Confluence instance, for example from a test to a production instance? Now you don’t need to copy and paste each field one by one anymore. Just export your Metadata Set and import it wherever you want it. - Copy the Metadata when copying / moving a Confluence Page
The time when you needed to re-configure your Metadata after copying or moving a page is finally over. - Compatibilities with other add-ons
- Comala Publishing compatibility
Now Metadata values get published as well. - Templates for Blogposts
The Metadata of a template are now assigned to new blogposts - Enterprise Theme compatibility
As in Confluence’s Default Theme, the Metadata icon is now displayed in the top bar in order to indicate if a page already contains Metadata and to give quick access to them.
- Comala Publishing compatibility
- Metadata Overview macro to work with Anonymous Access
Previously, meta data was only shown to logged-in users. Now unregistered visitors can also see the meta data displayed by the Metadata Overview macro – provided, of course, only if you have enabled Anonymous Access in your Confluence. - New Field Type: “Group”
Analog to the Field Type “User”, you can now select Confluence Groups with the new Field Type “Group”. - New macro: “Content by Metadata”
Just like with the Content by Label macro, you can create a list of pages/blogs by applying all sorts of filters. But in addition, you can filter by metadata values. So you could say it’s like the Metadata Overview macro, but it shows only the titles in a clean list.
