We are more than happy to introduce the latest version of Metadata for Confluence today. With version 2.0, structuring your wiki is even more a piece of cake!

New to metadata: introduction and demo case
As a metadata newbie, the provided demo case “Product Directory”, which comes as a space with the add-on, will help you to understand the various possibilities you can address with the add-on.
An introduction will help you to get started with the configuration, macros and other use cases. If you want to know more, please refer to our support portal and the manual to create a product documentation.
Major usability improvements
Metadata for Confluence 2.0 brings along a new experience of using metadata in your wiki.
- Editing of metadata now takes place in the metadata sidebar of the edit-mode. In this sidebar, users can expand metadata sets and edit the desired metadata fields easily. Descriptions are more clearly marked as such. Don’t worry: If you already use Metadata for Confluence: There is an “Edit” button where Metadata used to be edited, so users will not get confused.
- Metadata now uses CQL. This means: Wherever Metadata are applied, you can filter comfortably with the help of autosuggest. The powerful yet very complex synatax-queries are not needed anymore to search for metadata or to configure the Metadata Overview macro. Just filter for Metadata in your search results.
Use case: The configuration of metadata is easy and comfortable as never before. Roll-out efforts for implementing Metadata for Confluence will decrease significantly.
New field type: Date
This new field type comes with a handy date-picker – as known from Confluence – and the ability to search for metadata dates.
Use case: Add release date information to your product directory and search for releases in a specific time period.
Using metadata: Macros
The Macros Metadata Display and Metadata Overview, which come with the add-on, can be configured way more easily. Just filter for the required metadata and display them on your page or search with more comprehensive filter options via Metadata Overview.
Additionally, it is possible to change the column order in Metadata Overview and to rename the title column.
Use case: Configure Metadata Overview just the way you need it. Reorder the columns and rename the title column to display the desired information in the most convenient and clear way.

Compatibility
Metadata for Confluence is now data center compatible. Additionally, the compatibility with selected add-ons has been improved:
- Accessibility for Confluence: Metadata Display Macros and Metadata Overview Macros are properly displayed using this add-on.
- Scroll PDF Exporter: Metadata Macros will be properly displayed in PDF-exports.
