Jira Day 2020 – Remote Edition Recap

Our Highlights from this years Deviniti Jira Day 2020 - the remote edition are now available!

Last week Deviniti hosted their yearly Jira Day, but this year was special! It was the first time this event took place fully remotely with more than 40 sessions. With this jam-packed agenda, the free event attracted 2,700 registered participants from 80 countries

Deviniti and their Jira Day are well-known, and I guess now they’re even more popular. Turning a 2-day on-site event into a 4-day remote broadcast takes a lot of effort and engagement and they’ve done an awesome job! Here’s what I liked most:

The Host

Usually, Jira Day would’ve taken place in Poland’s national stadium in Warsaw. I’ve been there last year, and I can tell you this is an impressive place. Moving the event from such a venue to the digital world comes with some difficulties. Getting the attention of people, not sitting in the same room, but anywhere in the world is hard. But Deviniti played their Joker: Julian. He kept everyone interested in the topics, making sure everyone can start on time and he entertained the audience during the breaks.

Live + On-Demand

As mentioned before, Jira Day was a jam-packed event, offering a lot of different sessions for everyone to join. After every session, the participants had the chance to ask all their questions in a live Q&A and the presenters were able to directly answer. The sessions were recorded and the presentation recordings are still available until July 1st, so if you missed one session, or you even missed Jira Day you get a second chance. Since I also did not get the chance to watch every session I’d liked to, I am really thankful for this option.

The Building Block of the Digital Workplace

Of course, we presented a topic ourselves, revolving around the core components of the digital workplace. In a quick 30 minutes presentation our Co-Head of Products, David Toussaint, showed nearly 300 people the four pillars of the digital workplace and the tools you need to design it on your own. Here’s a quick insight into our session:

Résumé

It was a greatly organized event featuring a lot of interesting talks! Thanks to Julian (the moderator) it was fun, too! Participants will likely remember the #lavalamp and carry on some insider tips by the presenters.

We’re happy we got the chance to be part of this great remote event and are looking forward to join future events hosted by Deviniti.
