After showing you how our team got started on the cloud app development for Metadata for Confluence, a few weeks went by and so did a couple of sprints, in which the app took more and more shape.
If you haven’t heard of sprints yet: it is about defining short time frames to work on a specific product, and performing everything from planning, over coding up to testing – and that’s what we do bi-weekly.
Working along the story map
Starting off from the story map that’s been created, the team followed the backlog and set up one feature after the other.
Doing so, our UX experts were involved at all times, so that there’s always the user’s perspective taken into consideration.
Thus, one after one, new features are implemented and the UX of previous ones is improved.
Involving stakeholders
When working agile, you always involve others beside your team – let that be either the customer or other stakeholders. Like that, you prevent not to see the wood for the trees – or to put it differently: to produce a result people can later actually work with and understand how it is working.
So every two weeks, there’s a presentation meeting, where the recent improvements are shown and discussed with people from marketing, sales, UX or anyone else, who is interested.
Based on the feedback of these sessions, requirements are adjusted and features improved where it makes sense.
This part also benefits from beta testers, so a person or team, which get’s to test the latest version and give valuable feedback on it.
