These are our highlights of this year’s Atlassian Summit in San Jose
Last week, we had the chance to be part of the Atlassian Summit once again – as exhibitors, visitors and sure enough as fans of the Atlassian Community.
Atlassian Home
Atlassian continues to promote the development of its Cloud platform. Atlassian Home is available for Cloud users and combines the activities of all Cloud services in a chronological summary. With the help of the announced team collaboration platform, Atlassian is promoting the vision of a digital workplace based on their tools, incorporating additional elements besides Home. Get more information on this topic in the video with Sherif Mansour, Principal Product Manager for Atlassian Home.
New Communication Platform Stride
Just a few days before Summit, Atlassian launched the new messaging and collaboration platform Stride. It is only available for public Cloud and includes messaging, video conferencing and collaboration tools. Customers who want to self-host their messaging tool may continue using Hipchat Datacenter. The following video interview with Jonathan Nolen, Principal Product Manager for Stride, provides more information.
Atlassian’s Enterprise Strategy
For enterprise customers with their own installations, Atlassian has the clear message: “We are with you.” On the one hand, they are investing in the scalability and performance of their products in the enterprise field. On the other hand, new features that are first being developed and tested for the Cloud will gradually be provided to Server customers. For example, in San Jose Atlassian announced that mobile apps will be available for Confluence and Jira Server, as well as Data Center. More about Atlassian’s enterprise offerings in our video interview with Cameron Deatsch, Head of Server Marketing.
Big News from Communardo at the Summit
As a highlight of our range of apps for Confluence and Jira, we presented the newly developed SharePoint Online Connector for Confluence, which for the first time makes it possible to embed documents and libraries from Office 365 in Confluence Server and Data Center and, likewise, to integrate wiki content in SharePoint Online. The new connector met with a positive response from Summit visitors.
The beta test will start in only a couple of days – more information and the chance to register as a beta tester here.
Last but not least, Nils Merkle, from the German armed forces, gave a fascinating talk about their wiki platform and emphasized their collaboration with Communardo. Additionally, we had the opportunity to hold important conversations with our customers from all around the world and partners like Comalatech, Fringe Technology and many more.
